For AW15 Mi-Pac were proud to announce a unique partnership with London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. Continuing their commitment to supporting and nurturing UK design talent, Mi-Pac enlisted the help of the prestigious London College of Fashion to create an exciting new collection by launching an engaging competition. Fashion Textiles students were briefed to create their own brands and produce designs taking influence and work with topical themes, exploring graphics, colours and textures that celebrate British culture and icons. Two winning brand’s designs (B.A.R.K and HIE) were chosen and their designs have now been put into production. The collection will be available in two individual prints, consisting of a matching Mi-Pac classic backpack, duffel and bum bag. Through this competition, Mi-Pac embraced a complex production method of metallic screen-printing - one of the defining features of B.A.R.K’s intricate design. For HIE it was a complicated process of flock panelling applied to the sublimated base. Together the students and Mi-Pac pushed their design processes and manufacturing skills to the limits to create innovative new products.
